**PROPOSED changes to the 60 day visa exempt entry program **

Right now (since July 15th 2024) 93 countries get a 60 day visa exempt entry when showing up to thailand <- meaning they can show up without having bought a visa from a thai consulate before they come here and get stamped in free stamp for 60 days..

The **proposal** going before the cabinet is to bring it back to the old rule that was in effect for years and years before they changed to 60 days and that is to go back to 30 day visa exempt for 57 countries

We are not letting posts about this **PROPOSED** change..

Believe me if/when they announce an effective date for the change it will be on every thai related group, forum, website, you-tube, tiktok, instagram in the small part of the inter-web related to thailand. <- all we can do is watch the news.

Believe there was a meeting yesterday hosted by the immigration Minister, nothing from that meeting was released but the fact is it was held. The information I'm told is in the Thai language press is changes this summer , Obviously anything that might occur is subjective guess work at this point but as Tod states the 30 day visa exempt for 57 countries is the most repeated

The way government shit goes down here, at this stage all we can say is that it might happen next week, next month, next year - or never at all, forgotten about like it never happened.
