Thank you for your helpful report.

Congratulations 👏👏👏 on getting the 5 year DTV Visa.

As it was an Evisa online application for the DTV visa, be sure to print out several copies of the Evisa email you have received.

Show it to Thai Immigration officers on arrival into Thailand throughout the 5 years. And to your airline if asked to show a ticket departing Thailand.

it's not the Embassy staff which makes that decision. It's your AIRLINE which might ask to see flight departing Thailand. Print out the Evisa email with the Thai DTV visa in it or show your Passport sticker pasted in it with the DTV visa.

do we need departure ticket really with DTV when can stay 180+180?

And what if I wanna go out with my own thai motorbike to Malaysia? Then no flight ticket...

Thai Immigration Officers will NOT accept anything other than a flight departing Thailand.

do you have legal text for airline request for departure or for immigration law to have out ticket?

An onwardsticket purchase is like 12$ to have something but soo useless when someone just wanna travel based on weather conditions...and or with motorbike out.

Thai immigration decision to deny entry is an operational practice. You can appeal a decision made to be denied entry. Resulting in several days held by Thai Immigration in the Airport Immigration Detention Center waiting for a court hearing in front of a judge.

The 6 MONTHS Passport valid rule is universally accepted. Airlines can be fined for allowing you to Fly to Thailand. And are responsible to Fly you back to your originating city.

Simply book a one way flight ✈️ to Phnom Penh from Don Mueang airport within the number of days you are initially STAMPED in for...its cheap. Book with a site which allows for Free cancel within 24 hours. Print out the booking and cancel it.

REALITY is it's your AIRLINE which might ask to see proof of your flight departing Thailand within the 180 days of your arrival. ASK your airline !

this is good advice but just a heads up that if you don't print out your visa, you'll probably be ok if you just show the pdf on your phone. Worked fine for me.

I hear you.. BUT it is BEST to print out several copies of the Evisa email with the DTV visa in it. There's been times reported in recent years where the phone did not work when needed. And airline staff and Thai Immigration Officers can easily pass around the Evisa with others when it's printed out. Keep it Simple.. print out several COPIES.
