ATTN; People wanting to apply for DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) 

The eVisa online website is updated for the DTV and now has proof of permanent residence in the country whose consulate you are applying thru AND criminal background check listed as requirements 

That means most everyone goes back to the country their passport is from to apply for DTV's now...

You do nothing, you carry both passwords with you when entering the country, or at least first time after you got your new passport. There was a recent report of a group member who’s passport was expiring a few moths before the 5 years DTV so he got the DTV valid only until the expiration day of his passport

If you have an e Visa that you got online through a Thai Consulate you print the PDF and present both passports when you stamp back into Thailand.

They will note you got the visa on the old passport and stamp you in on the new one and from then on you can use the PDF Visa print out and the new passport to get in and out of the country

Although it is useful to have a copy of the data page of the old passport as well

You carry both the old and new passport until the dtv expires or you have it transfered to new passport at embassy.

that's your specific embassy. Some transfer the visa. You can search for confirmed reports that already exist in this group.
