Are Chinese bank statements accepted for the Destination Thailand Visa application?

I am a Malaysian national intending to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV). I have been a long-term resident of Mainland China, and currently living in Hong Kong and consequently, my primary savings (500,000 THB equivalent) are held in a Chinese financial institution. Could you please confirm if bank statements from Mainland China are acceptable as proof of funds? Additionally, are there specific notarization or translation requirements for Chinese bank documents?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Malaysian national living in Hong Kong is inquiring about the acceptance of Chinese bank statements as proof of funds for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV). The response indicates that acceptance of bank statements varies by consulate: those applying from the same country of the bank may use online statements, while applications at consulates outside of mainland China likely require sealed or attested statements. It is recommended to contact the specific consulate to confirm requirements.

Usually when youre applying from the same country as to where the bank is they accept online generated statements. But it is a policy that varies from consulate to consulate. If youre applying at a consulate from outside of mainland china it is highly likely that they require your statement to have a bank seal or attestation. It would be best to confirm with the consulate you apply from via phone or email stating the names of the banks or institutions where you hold your funds.
