TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses concerns about the medical check and insurance policy required for entering Thailand from Vientiane. Various comments suggest that the strictness of the Nong Khai border and requirements may vary, with some travelers indicating that they were not asked for a medical certificate when crossing by land. It is also mentioned that the requirements may differ depending on the mode of entry, with some suggesting that as of now, they primarily apply to air travelers.

And if the OP did not start his travel since yesterday, it all could be different. Good luck

how did you get in?

Apparently the requirements, for now, only hold up for people flying in. Crossing a land border should not be a problem.

they were already asked for three days ago on Cambodia/Thai land border.

Doesn’t the medical certificate and insurance requirement coming IN to Thailand start on the 22nd?

I just crossed into Thailand (Mukdahan) now. Again, didn’t ask for certificate (but I had it) just the form about past travel and symptoms.

Vientiane is not a place where you would want to be stuck for very long 😅 good luck man

This morning at Chiang Khong, they didn't ask certificate but you must fill T8 form and stand few seconds front of a big camera for check if you have fever.

More informations maybe that can help. I did that with a french passport and that was the same for 2 foreigners with me (1 US and 1 UK passport). The English girl had a medical certificate from Thai hospital but they didn't care about this, they just asked her to stand front of the IR and fill the T8 form

you cannot run the covid19 test and receive it UNDER 48 hours . .in some countries, it takes up to 5 days until you receive the results. Which FACTUALLY means: The country is CLOSED for entry for ALL and everybody. All that is left is your option to go on standby with your airline and get back home

This is the Medical Certificate asked for by Thai Immigration.
