Hey folks,

I plan to do my first overland border crossing this week at Friendship Bridge no. 4 into Huay Xai, Laos. Is anybody familiar with that one?

Iโ€™ve got two exempt stamps already this year (both airport entries) and iโ€™ve extended both times. Am i likely to encounter issues with Thai immigration if i leave the country and attempt to come back on the same day, or is that par for the course? Would i be better staying two or three nights in Laos?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can offer,

Matt ๐Ÿ˜

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user named Matt is planning his first overland border crossing from Thailand to Laos at Friendship Bridge no. 4. He is concerned about potential issues with Thai immigration after two recent exempt stamps this year. Community members suggested that re-entering Thailand on the same day is usually straightforward and recommended being prepared with cash and travel documentation.

I didn't say it happens all the time. But they have the right to ask and deny entry.

3 days isn't fooling anyone. They know you're doing it for a new entry stamp. Generally borders with Laos are easy.
