I’m planning to come over to Thailand from Scotland in December to Marry my Thai Fiancé and setup life to stay in Thailand. Can someone please advise what is the requirement for life insurance, do I need it for visas to stay in Thailand, can I buy it in the UK but will Thai government accept it if required?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks guidance on life insurance requirements for a Scottish expat planning to marry his Thai fiancé and settle in Thailand. Various comments clarify that life insurance is not a requirement for visas in Thailand, but health insurance is crucial, especially for COVID-19 coverage. It is suggested that the individual starts with a NON-O visa and that some have had success using local Thai insurance companies. Additionally, some recommend considering an extension based on retirement as an easier alternative to the marriage visa process.

Marriage visa is a pain in the butt. Come here and apply for an extension of stay based on retirement. It’s a hell of a lot easier. It took me 45 minutes. Look at the requirements for a marriage visa and you will see.
I used the income verification method. I received an affidavit from the Canadian Embassy. Many countries don’t issue them. Now I’m wondering if immigration has stopped using that method and only using bank statements.
You can apply for one year marriage visa..although first you need an none O type visa first..I have also done it..but I used an agency in BKK..if you need any further info just pm me,I will be happy to help..also use a Thai company for my insurance
Sorry Greg , who is they? For the visa agent service re long stay as mentioned. I couldn't see it it unless you meant AXA and they looked like insurance only?
when you arrive in Thailand you need to apply for an none O visa..then alert you can apply for one year marriage visa..no documents required and and personal bank details..they will arrange all for you..they are very effective fast and reliable..of course the charge a fee but its not so expensive..and saves a whole lot os headache
that sounds great. Essentially I've traveled to Thailand 3 times and I have a lady there. I want to stay for a year at most before i decide on if this suits me.
