The post discusses the rumored introduction of a new visa that would allow foreigners to obtain residency through property purchases in Thailand, specifically mentioning Sansiri properties. However, many commenters express skepticism, demanding official confirmation and suggesting the news may be linked to real estate marketing rather than genuine policy change. There are concerns about potential scams and the legitimacy of the information shared, with some stating that similar schemes have existed but with stricter conditions. Overall, the conversation reveals a lack of trust in the claims about the new visa and highlights the need for verified updates on Thai visa regulations.

This is why I have seen people asking about getting a visa for buying property here over the last couple of months. This is definitely just real estate companies trying to trick people.
There's an investment visa like that which has been around for about forever, which requires buying a 10m condo. There was another scheme - some developers would include Thailand Elite visa in their property "bundles", but it's no longer happening it seems.
Real or not, Sansiri has plenty to gain from it. And if you look carefully, itβs right there in the video logos. A kind reminder that the DTV was pushed by Sansiriβs CEO former PM. Surprise surprise π!
Very good point π I was also wondering how he still has the power to do that. But they definitely marketed it. Letβs see. Itβs definitely a way to sell their condos, and itβs even more targeted than the DTV.
weird comment. You do realize most countries in the world that offer residence visas for properties have all sorts of restrictions on the options, right? Sometimes only with certain developers in certain zones (that suck)
Anonymous participant 616 as Iβve had to claw and scratch for my DTV (recently obtained from London Embassy) Iβd be very interested to know who pushed for it!
