TLDR : Answer Summary
The latest updates on the A O 50+ visa indicate that medical insurance requirements may come into effect, with reports suggesting that details will be finalized by October 31, 2019. If you already have an O-A visa, you can proceed with your plans, but if you are still applying, it is advisable to do so quickly. Additionally, it's important to understand the differences between the O and O-A visas.

NO update. Monitor your home country Australia Thai website.

If you already have the O-A visa issued. Enjoy it and your stays in Thailand.

If you are planning to apply for it do it quickly....the effective date is reported to be October 31, 2019. But as of yet specific details unknown.

see OVERSEAS INSURANCE CERTIFICATE for the form that apparently will be used by Thai Embassy/Consulates in ones home country to meet the new health insurance requirements.

we are watching foreign Thai Embassy websites ...yet no changes seen.

But if you do have health insurance which covers you in Thailand as well as home country it appears it will meet the requirement.

A form for this health insurance certificate of coverage does appear on the Thai website which does now sell the O-X health insurance...with O-A now added.
