Hello everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well. My husband, my daughter, and I are planning to move to Thailand, and I’m currently applying for the DTV (Thai Soft Power) visa from France. I have a few questions about the process and would greatly appreciate your guidance:

1. For the Thai Boxing Club that I’m applying to as part of my DTV visa, should I pay the fees in advance, or is it enough to simply obtain an invitation letter from them at this stage?

2. Regarding the embassy fees, do I need to pay them once the visa is approved, or should I pay when submitting the application?

3. What is the minimum duration required for the activity? Is six months sufficient?

4. If I pay in advance and my visa application is denied, will the fees be refunded?

Also, if anyone has any general advice or recommendations for families moving to Thailand under the DTV visa, I’d love to hear them!

Thanks in advance for your help! ❤️

You pay the fee upfront. If rejected, you don’t receive funds back. Once you are approved, then you apply separately for each family member (each 10,000 baht). In regards to documents, each embassy varies. Usually need to be enrolled, and submit multiple documents, including the M. Thai school’s business license number.

France uses the evisa system. Fees are payable on application. If rejected there would be no refund.

Almost certainly you’d need to pay the Muay Thai place upfront. Although that’s probably specific to each embassy and I couldn’t advise what Paris requires.

Paris is well known to take a long time to process a visa. Like a month or so.
