Upcoming change from 60 day visa exempt entry to 30 day visa exempt entry
We are getting more and more people trying to make posts asking if once the change from 60 day visa exempt to 30 day visa exempt takes effect if they will get in to the country by a land border on a 30 day visa exempt after having been here for a period of time..
That's a question no one on this group OR any other group, reddit thread, tiktok, youtube etc can answer. At this time not even the border crossing guards know how the policy will be interpreted yet..
No one has any idea how 'hard' they're going to be about people entering on a new 30 day visa exempt entry stamp who already have extensive visa exempt entry/stay histories to thailand this year.
We also don't know how the border is actually going to 'count' the 2 visa exempt entries in a calendar year. Are they going to count previous land entries this year on the visa exempt program when it was 60 days? Are they going to start counting from zero with the new 30 day visa exempt entries. We just don't know..
AND
until people start stamping in at 12:00AM on the 15th <- when the actual changes take effect I think no one will know.
In fact it will probably be a good few days after the change takes effect to see the reports from the various land crossings. ..
So if you tried to make a post asking about whether you'll get in once the changes take effect and it was denied that's the reason.. All we can do is wait and see how it all pans out
