TLDR : Answer Summary
The estimated annual cost for health insurance for a 67-year-old in Thailand ranges from 90,000 to 200,000 Baht, depending on coverage and pre-existing conditions. Notably, health insurance is not required for the initial NON-O retirement visa application. It is recommended to consult a broker or insurance planner to find suitable plans once in Thailand.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES

You don't need insurance for the retirement visa. Non-O based on retirement, enter, get bank account, deposit money, apply for 12 month extension. Then you can get an insurance from a bigger choice of providers.
I read some Aussies were struggling to find the Non-O on the application website. But if you use the spyglass top of page š there will be threads discussing this. But it's what I would use. Arrive on Non-O based on retirement, go lickety split to a bank and get account open. Once money seasoned apply for extension of stay.

according to admin/advisors on here, a Non-O visa (valid 90 days) and in that time you open bank account with this visa. It's the one many people use to open bank accounts. . Then apply for 12 month extension.

0 in your bank from Australia I called the thai embassy in Canberra yesterday
no need for non-OA. You can get a non-O visa ( no insurance, police check or Thai account needed) by using your bank account in Australia. Use this Non-O to arrive in Thailand. Open bank account avoiding Bangkok bank. Apply for 12 month extension of stay. That's a good way to do it. But if you want a non-OA with police checks and duration linked to poor quality insurance, that's up to you.

Dave, If you want my insurance agents contact info let me know. She has been really great to work with.
You are looking at 150-200k baht per year. Existing preconditions excluded for a Thai health insurance. Prices vary greatly depending on age and existing symptoms.

I'm from USA and travel the world every year from September to May. I hop across Europe to different countries during September and October before finally traveling to Thailand where I stay November to February. Once hot season begins in March I move up to Nepal for a while and then start back across Europe. I have tried getting several quotes from expat travel insurance but when I put down that I am 65 they say they do not currently offer coverage for that age. I am uninsured at this time and would like to get a policy. I would be interested in what you may have that will cover me globally, because I am in around 11 or 12 different countries each year. I also take side trips from Thailand to places like Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. So I'm looking for a plan that covers me wherever I go. Thank you.
