Anyone willing to share what they or their friends ๐ may have paid for their insurance
I know and welcome all informed advice on the costs of insurance that has been paid.
For an exact figure only a personal quote will give me a definite answer.
Doing my groundwork on an advice group at this moment in time.
Can anyone give an example of what they paid for compulsory basic insurance for this O-A visa monthly or yearly figures

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion focuses on the costs of compulsory health insurance for those applying for a Non-Immigrant O-A visa in Thailand, particularly for retirees. Multiple commenters shared their personal experiences, detailing annual premiums ranging from 42,000 to 160,000 baht depending on age, coverage, and health status. Recommendations include checking with specific insurers like AXA and Pacific Cross, and utilizing resources like the TGIA list of recognized Thai insurance companies. It's emphasized that costs vary based on individual circumstances.

It depends on whats your purpose of the insurance, if only to satisfy the OA requirements, the min is around USD 200+/year with AXA. But dont plan on using it for actual medical benefits, as deductible is very high.
If u r planning on a actual usable insurance, than it depends on yr age and any pre-existing conditions.

I had an OA. I was 62 when I bought a policy from Pacific Cross. It is a 10 million baht policy and has a 40,000 baht deductible. Iโm paying 78,000 baht per year. I am now 69. I am getting a no claims discount.
Pacific Cross has a nice website where you can choose a plan and get an estimate of the cost.
Pre-existing conditions will be excluded.
What I have is a catastrophic health plan. I pay for routine car myself. The biggest medical bill Iโve ever had is only 20,000 baht. The insurance is for something really serious and expensive.
Whatever you purchase the price is going to depend on your age, coverage amount, deductible, and health status.
What you will have to pay for a good international health insurance during the first two years of a Non-Imm-O/A visa, is only a part of the game
Because when you go from the visa to the 1-year Extension of Stay Permit, Immigration only accepts a Thai private health insurance, listed on the tgia-list of insurances.
These 12-15 insurance companies can be easily accessed on the internet and their quotes and yearly rate are listed. You find them when you google for "tgia list of insurances"

Ask some health insurance compagnies, those are there ones that can state a price based on your data.

Just paid THB 7,000 with AXA for a one-year policy
Health insurance prices very much depend on many individual factors. What i pay is irrelevant. I might be younger or older. I use max or no deductables. I am healthy or pre existing conditions. Etc etc etc.
