Are there any recent tourist visa applicants through thaievisa.go.th? More precisely through the Athens Embassy? My application is Pending Documents Check for 3 weeks already, so I’m concerned, as my trip is in 2 weeks. So curious to hear your experience. Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about recent experiences with tourist visa applications through the Athens Embassy after their application status showed 'Pending Documents Check' for three weeks, raising concerns about an imminent trip. Commenters suggested contacting the embassy directly for updates. One noted that their husband's tourist visa was issued within 48 hours due to proactive submission of supporting documents. Another user reported receiving their visa after 19 days, which included 13 working days.

My husband did the tourist visa through Athens evisa last month. It was issued in less than 48 hours but we anticipated every possible query and sent extra information. For example the accommodation was in my name instead of his so we put a note on the hotel voucher to explain that we would travel together. His bank statement was old (only issued once a year) so we also sent a more recent download of transactions. You can only upload a single file so sometimes you need to merge pages into a pdf. I would phone them if I were you.

Same here, Alison! I was extremely detailed. Phoned them yesterday and told me it's up to Thailand and that I should not worry. But it's been 3 weeks already! Can't relax!

Yes, I'm a citizen of Serbia and I did provide a couple of documents which proove my residency. I agree, with the consulate it's much easier!

Sorry to state the obvious but did you provide legal proof of the right to reside in the country you applied from? Either a residence permit, driving licence, national ID card or passport for that country. They only accept legal residents / citizens of Greece, Malta and Serbia. It used to be so easy. I didn't realise how lucky we were to have had a Thai Consulate in Malta. We used to just drop off our passports and pick them up with the 60 day visa sticker a few days later.

Although it’s a centralised system the applications go to your local embassy for approval. Call them or message them on Facebook.

Yeah, called them, and they told me they don’t know as it’s reviewed by personel in Thailand. 🫠 I will give it a few more days.

Thank you, Stuart! 🙏

that's correct. The system is locked until a decision is made in Bangkok.

The system is then 'unlocked' so as a visa can be issued or more documents needed.
