TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around personal experiences with Regency medical insurance, specifically focusing on the claims process. One user mentioned they were fortunate never to file a claim but opted out of the insurance due to negative reviews regarding claim hassles. Another commenter highlighted that insurance companies that require detailed health checks during signup may indicate reliability, suggesting that those that do not might limit payouts on significant claims.

If an insurance company asks for a detailed health check prior to signing you up then they are probably your best option. Any that don’t ask are happy to payout on small claims but will not pay out for anything big.

Used to use. Fortunately never had to claim. Gave it up because of the reviews of the hassles of claiming, but can’t confirm one way or the other.
I also use AIA and find them very good. Important to get a good agent though, I had an overnight in hospital a while back and the hospital were taking forever the next morning (I suspect because they wanted me to pay upfront) , a quick call to my agent and I was out of there in 10 minutes all sorted
No. needs the agent to visit you. They run through a series of questions when signing up. No medical. There is a time lag from sign up to when you could claim on certain things.
