Answer summary

A new expat from the Netherlands is planning to visit Thailand for one month before Christmas to meet his girlfriend. He seeks advice on necessary documents and requirements for the trip. Comments suggest contacting the local Thai consulate or embassy for information, specifically regarding visa applications and COVID-19 quarantine rules, which include a mandatory 15-night stay in ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) upon arrival.

You might get a Christmas turkey on Christmas Day in quarantine 🙏

You know you’re going to have to do 15 nights in isolation in a hotel, right?

Better start searching info asap, I'm not sure if you could make it to Thailand before Christmas or not. I called RTE The Hague last Friday to request an appointment for visa application, the earliest day I could reserve was for December 18th. Please note that you have to quarantine at an ASQ hotel for 15 nights before getting to see your girlfriend. More information and procedures are available on RTE The Hague website.
