TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to return to Thailand after a recent 90-day stay for medical consultations. They have previously entered Thailand under the Visa Exempt Entry program and are considering whether to apply for a Non-Immigrant O-MT Visa for medical reasons. Comments suggest that while it's possible to obtain a 60-day entry stamp upon return, they must provide proof of departure within that timeframe. Additionally, obtaining a medical extension longer than 90 days may require documentation from a medical facility and cannot typically be processed within Thailand. Concerns were raised regarding the user's eligibility for extended medical visas and recommendations for applying from their home country.

What is your history in Thailand prior to the most recent 90 days?

then as people said have PROOF you're going to fly out in 60 days (because if you're going to get questioned by passport control that's what they'll ask for) and hope for the best

You should be fine coming back in if that's your only entry last year,

As you are from the UK, It's apparent that you are again trying to enter Thailand in January with a second Visa Exempt Entry... (first in October for 60 days and extended 30 days ) obtaining a new 60 day stamp.

Be prepared for questions on arrival by Thai Immigration officers and present proof of your departure from Thailand within the 60 days stamp you will receive on arrival from Vietnam.

Along with the address of where you will be initially staying in Thailand.

As this is the second Visa Exempt Entry, there's likely no added 30 day extension....but 7 days is possible.

Ask your local Thai immigration office for their requirements.

Your mention of medical care has no bearing on your Visa Exempt Entry.

thank you. I am definitely expecting to be questioned by immigration why I am coming back so soon but I’m more than willing to answer whatever they have to ask me honestly.

From the research I have done I can apply/pay for Non immigrant 0-MT visa for 60-90 days for medical purpose and can be renewed upto a year if needed.

Only issue is i don’t know how long my surhery recovery will take so I won’t have an outward flight 90 days roughly later unless I just book one to Vietnam (again) and if I need to cancel/refund it for any unforeseen circumstances woth my surgeries.

I will see where the local Thai immigration is local to where I am.

I just want to know rough cost of visa & timescale so I can get more consultations and appointments booked in.

Thank you for your advice.
