​I think it depends on which Embassy you apply at. Vientiane, for instance, required proof of purchase (receipt) for Muay Thai classes. Maybe the question then is: will the Muay Thai school still honor the course in 2–3 months?

There is no rule about when you need to enter. Embassies often want to see in application you will enter in next 90 days. However, once visa issued you are not kept to that currently.
