With 1 time a few days overstay, getting an ED visa is probably no problem?

What is the difference between a visa from a private language course that is supplying 8 month visa and a selfdefense visa of 1 year, except the length?

Both of them are will have the 3 month extending?

Any differences with the pro and cons?

You are able to do the same things with it? For example can you get a driving license (+make test) with both?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An ED visa can be obtained even with a previous overstay, and there is a notable difference in the lengths of stay and extensions offered for language course visas (8-9 months with extensions) versus self-defense or martial arts visas (up to 1 year with 90-day extension increments). Both permits allow for similar activities, including obtaining a driving license, yet the major factor is the intended duration of stay.

No problem getting a 90 day ED visa with an overstay stamp in your passport.

The difference is the length of time you can get extensions, for language it's 8-9 months and then you go get another ED visa and get 6-7 more months and for self defense or muay thai you can extend for up to a year from the date of the ED visa in 90 day increments.

Only difference is you can stay longer. You can make a drivers license on visa exempt

Visa is for staying inside the Kingdom, depending school and documentation you can apply for Extension of Stay at local Immigration. I never heard of an ED visa to follow a driving license course.

The only difference in value is that after 9 months of following lessons at a language school you can speak a foreign language and when following lessons on a self defense school you can defend yourself.

A Visa gives you right for a period of stay in Thailand. If Single Entry the visa is stamped used and has no value what so ever other than a memory inside your passport.
