Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for some advice about Thailand visas, especially DTV and retirement options.

I’d really appreciate any guidance or personal experience you can share about the process, requirements, or any common mistakes to avoid.

Thank you in advance for your help!
Answer summary
The conversation covers inquiries about Thailand's DTV and retirement visa options, highlighting important distinctions and requirements. For the DTV, which is aimed at digital nomads, there's a need to prove 500k THB in funds and it allows for long stays. In contrast, the retirement visa (Non-O/OA) applies to individuals 50 and older, requiring proof of either 800k THB in a bank account or a monthly income of 65k THB. It is advised to consult visa agents to help navigate the process, and it's noted that the two visa types cater to different lifestyles and circumstances.

DTV is not a retirement visa.

Good question 👍

DTV and retirement visa are very different depending on your situation (age, income, and long-term plan).

If you want, I can connect you with a visa team in Bangkok who can explain both options properly based on your case and help you avoid common mistakes.

Such an open question. Try to do some research before asking humans.

My personal experience is to consult a Visa agent. Outsourcing the whole process to people that do it every day just saves a lot of time and stress.

The DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) offers 5-year, multi-entry flexibility for digital nomads and soft power activities (180+180 days stay), requiring 500k THB proof of funds. The Retirement Visa (Non-O/OA) is for those 50+ needing long-term, uninterrupted residency, requiring 800k THB in a bank or 65k THB monthly income.

Retirement visa is only an option if you are over 50.

If you will work remotely from Thailand then the DTV based on Workation is your only option to do so legally. If you won't work remotely then the Non-O based on being over 50 is the one to go for
