TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the requirements for obtaining a 30-day extension on a visa exemption or a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand. Commenters seek clarification on both the general extension process and the current visa exemption criteria.

Thanks for that but what about current visa exemption requirements please
there are no requirements to get a visa exempt entry, you show up here and they stamp you in free for 30 days. You could be asked for proof of onward travel by the airline when you check in (as some carriers have that policy)
you shouldn't be asked for anything when you go to stamp in, here in thailand,
Not unless you're trying to live here on free visa exempt entry stamps <-which you will find out doesn't work for too long
they could ask for proof of funds 20k baht or the equivalent, proof of onward travel in 30 days and proof of lodging, but that is highly unlikely, you'll most likely skate right thru passport control

these are the general requirements to get a 30 day extension on a 30 day visa exempt entry or a 60 day tourist visa entry
both are available as you walk in. He didn’t realize and was turned away. This happened to a few others also. Quick to fill in but still and extra 2 papers required.

Bangkok (IT Square Laksi Plaza and ChaengWattana) has been using those forms for years. Thanks anyway.
, those are already in the sheet Tod provided as “other forms (acknowledgements and statement)”. And anyway the sheet is general information as in the disclaimer.
just updating the members on BANGKOK so they don’t get stuck, with exactly what’s needed at Lak si as of Thursday. This group is gold for information and has help me a lot.
hi Todd, the above needs to be updated. My friend went on Thursday(Lak si) and you must also fill out the following before you’re eligible for a ticket.
Acknowledgement of overstay paper along with a stm2 paper
