I would like to ask a question regarding re-entering Thailand (I'm an Israeli currently in Bangkok and my tourist visa is about to expire).
I understand that you need to take a test to prove you're found negative for corona when entering from another country such as Cambodia. I would like to ask:
1. At the moment, must this test be specifically for corona, or is a general health test enough?
2. Assuming I have all the required documents from my insurance company, can I take the test here in Bangkok, and assuming it's valid for 48-72 hours, fly from Bangkok to Cambodia and immidiately fly back to Bangkok - is it valid? In other words, Can I take the test here in Bangkok and use it when entering Thailand from Cambodia?
Thanks a lot in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion revolves around the current requirements for Israeli travelers re-entering Thailand from Cambodia, specifically focusing on COVID-19 testing and visa regulations. Key points include the necessity for a COVID-19 test before re-entry, the validity of tests taken in Bangkok, and the need to possibly extend tourist visas due to expiration.
Can you fly back to Israel..? If not, then then try for Cambodia and get a test there to be sure and then fly back in. Did youn lready extend you a tourist visa for 30 days...?
Thanks Reiner so it sounds like it's possible, do you know if I can take the test here in Bangkok, and also do you know if Cambodia requires you to stay 24 hours when entering?
Cambodia has a few border check points open today, but it seems from tomorrow onward only Poi Pet - Aranyaprathet border check point will be open for essential travel.
Thailand is closing borders as you can not travel to neighbor country anyway, no need to stay in full force to tell people, no border run available.
If you like to enter Thailand by airplane starting at midnight today, so effective from 22 March 2020,
all people need a medical certificate and an
insurance with at least 100.000 USD coverage.
Royal Thai Police Immigration Bureau:
Announced that for the 18 countries and 3 territories, the 15 day Visa on Arrival is cancelled,
The 30 day Visa Exempt Entry is cancelled for Italy and South-Korea.
There is an option for people using the Visa Exempt Entry and Tourist Visa and already have the 30 day Extension of Stay.
If you booked a flight out of Thailand before your last date and this flight is cancelled or re-scheduled or re-booked after your last date you can get an Emergency travel letter from your Embassy. With this letter you can get an extra maximum 30 day Extension of Stay.
For people using the Non Immigrant Visa, the normal requirements are in place to apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay.
Thanks Benjamin I'm from Israel, I'm just wondering whether you can do the test here, and also if Cambodia really requires you to stay 24 hours. Thanks a lot!
