Answer summary
The conversation discusses the varying wait times for immigration at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, with comments from users sharing their personal experiences. Some mention long wait times during peak seasons or busy hours, while others note quick processing. The overall sentiment reflects uncertainty about consistent wait times, largely influenced by flight arrivals, staffing issues, and travelers' preparedness. How long is a piece of string? It will all depend on how many arrivals there are at the time you arrive
There is no pattern that I can discern for Bangkok airports. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes no. If you use CIQ (i.e., transfer in Bangkok for Chiang Mai, Chaing Rai, Phuket, or another domestic location) it seems like the lines can be shorter.
A lot of this seems to be clickbait, even if the queue seems superlong at BKK it usually moves fast because they have a lot of booths. I never waited more than like 20-30 mins. I could compile a long list of international airports that are way worse.
Goodness sake! Their are actually 2 arrival immigration areas and like any major airport it can be busy, personally be going Bangkok Airport 17 years most time waited was 30 minutes so stop panicking!
These type of posts get repeatedly posted on Facebook simply because they drive engagement. They are not a live update and usually include recycled photos.
Let's be honest... Nobody has got a clue what the answer is. Nobody works for the airport authority or the government.. Or even has the ability to see into the future!
If your coming, just come! What will be, be will be.. Stop fretting over nothing!
Came in March, 5 min from plane to exit. Trip in may, 10 min. Some people just are unlucky and have the urge to post it immediately. I come 5 times each year, longest queue was 30min.
If you're coming during peak season, then just anticipate a queue as a part of life. If it turns out that there isn't one, or it's not that long, then think of it as a happy bonus. That said, one cannot say how immigration will go. The long lines the other day were apparently because of a computer network outage. These are not common. But could it happen when you arrive? Maybe. Maybe not.
A matter of luck how many planes arrive at the same time. Does not matter what time of the year except when some airlines schedule less planes. Just luck.i am over 65 so no problem . Just go through with the Thai passport holders
Laurie Norton Yes. You go through the right hand side with the Thai people. Very Quick. Also departures you go far right to the end too. So much quicker through security
Go ahead and ex-girlfriend a couple of them actually that flew in from the Philippines into SeaTac and not a single one of them got done within an hour I think one of them it took like two and a half or 3 hours it is what it is.
