This is the school I used. At the time they knew nothing of the DTV ...just supplied the info required by the Thai embassy in London which turned out to be government approval just because they are good....they may still know nothing...they just charged me there normal fee...no rip off DTV prices. ...but that was then...I don't know what the deal is with them now.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their experience with a language school that assisted them in obtaining necessary documents for a DTV visa. They noted that the school had previously not been familiar with the DTV requirements but provided the needed information to the Thai embassy in London. There was no mention of inflated costs, and the user expressed uncertainty about the school's current status. Comments inquire about the cost of the course and express interest in similarly pursuing a language course without the risk of visa rejection.

Really cool that you got this for DTV. I would like to do the language course to as already went to thai class with the ED visa but I don't want to take the risk for rejection.

not cool at all.....a fact. When the DTV was first introduced it was for remote workers etc and initially it said education in Thai culture...which I concurred was learning the language. I enrolled on the language course with a school that had never heard of the DTV...they were good and on their own merit had government approval.

To me there was no risk involved...applied to the Thai embassy in London with all the relevant details...approved no problem ๐Ÿ˜Š

From what i've read here there are only a few people who got the dtv with thai language course. Maybe it's because you are over 49 as the other George says?

@Yasmin **********
From what I gather, if your under 49 years old you need an ED Visa. I believe, but not confirmation from me, that you cannot get an ED Visa if your over 49 years old.
Rob *******
how much did the course cost you ?
Dany ********
@Rob ******
probably 5-7,5k according to their website

I thought Thai language isnโ€™t included in Soft Power for DTV
Nelson ******
@Antanas ************
according to what I've read from businesses offering the DTV learning Thai isn't a soft power option. I believe that is still covered by the ED visa. It would be strange if both visas were possible.

Strange like there is a 60 day tourist visa but a 60 day visa exempt entry ?
Nelson ******
@Rob ******
the 60-day eVisa to me is a guaranteed entry whereas the visa exemption is not a given.

@Nelson *****
No such thing as gurateed entry, entirely depends on the discretion of the IO youโ€™re standing infront of.
