This story happened this morning to my Chinese friend.
She applied for thai tourist visa in September2022 in suvannakhet and stayed till few days ago in Thailand then went to suvannakhet again. She tried to apply for another tourist visa there but the staff in embassy told her that she can only apply for one tourist visa per year so she failed.
This is my first time to hear about this rule so would like to share here in case anyone may find it helpful.๐๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Chinese national faced difficulties applying for a Thai tourist visa at the Savannakhet embassy, where staff informed her that she could only apply for one tourist visa per year. This appears to be a specific rule for Chinese and Indian passport holders, contrasting with Western nationals who do not face the same restriction.
Okay, pay attention people and let's not start panicking
This is a CHINESE NATIONAL (which is actually a country on the list of countries that CANNOT get tourist visas in Lao at the thai consulate without living IN Lao.
When they opened up the borders between thailand and lao the consulate at Savannakhet decided to allow indian and chinese passport holders to apply for tourist visas. BUT know we know that it's ONCE, not like westerners (who have no official limit to getting them issued)
