Has anyone gone from having a WP to DTV without problems? I have heard this might be subject to more scrutiny.. Would like to hear your experiences. 🙏

I did udon to Krabi, pretty sure theres a very long boring stretch that will square off your rear tyre 🤣. Now i always head north west for the best motorbike thrills
I did it once on a 125 2 stroke yamaha.....hell of a drive but way fun😆 just wing it brother and remember that if you're back breaks massages are cheap in phuket 😄😄😄😄drive safe
Made it there and back on my Nmax. Way back even in a single day. Took about 13 hours with frequent stops to eat, drink, get gas and gibe my butt some time off.
The roads are relatively new and for Thailand they are surprisingly good. I would not dare going faster than 120 though. Still Thai roads.
Scenery can be both beautiful and interesting as well as boring depending on where you are.
Thai drivers are going to do Thai driver stuff. It’s dangerous and you should have experience driving national roads.
If you are used to driving long trips it’s ok and doable. Won’t necessarily ever do it again though, although I sometimes catch myself contemplating it.
Yes....best month of my life....take it slowly.....take a small detour to Kanchanaburi ( go see Erawan falls 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟)......Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan (Ao Manoa go see Langur ring eyed monkeys at the army base, and visit Khao Chong Krachok (The most outstanding temple in Thailand imho), Chumphon then cut across to Ranong (great hot springs and superb sunsets overlooking Myanmar)....Khao Sok (phenomenally beautiful area with a nature reserve that will blow your mind).....Phuket 😎🎶💯📷🕺
I did the ride from Sattahip, through BKK and down to Rawai and back in February/March.
Great adventure.
When you are coming back up, go via Khao Lak and then use the ferry to go to Kho Kho Khao and head up to the sand spit at the Northern most extreme for the fantastic sunsets…
I did it in my Airbus ACH160 Luxury helicopter, a bit different hovering over the car and bike plebs, in the air drinking a bottle of Bollinger and getting head from my private air hostess.....
It’s an easy ride. After Chumphon, cut across to Ranong and down the coast through Phang Nga and Khao Lak beach. We stayed in Khao Lak a couple of days and really enjoyed it
After prachap khiri khan go coast road some amazing little places around. After chumporn head to Ranong (stay in town head to Os cocktail bar) head down south can either turn left and head to Khoa sok or carry on down to Phang Nga town
Make sure you overnight cha am and hua hin and mueang prachuap khiri khan. Just hug the coast down to surat, then krabi and phang nga). Centre of chumphon has no value but the outskirts on the sea side is ok. Its a long way, take your time, plenty of stops
My girlfriend of seven years and I made this trip three years ago on two separate motorcycles. Five hours in to our trip it started raining very heavily and unfortunately my girlfriend lost control of her bike and skidded under a huge lorry her head was literally smashed to pulp. Her entire body was dragged several miles before the lorry driver realised what had happened. Her body was literally like jelly. Every bone smashed. Every bit of flesh torn to ribbons. We had planned our trip meticulously but because of her accident I had to pay for her half of everything including hotel bills and needless to say I had to pay the full amount for her bike which was literally broken beyond description. all in all I lost around £1200 . Despite the accident I had a great time and met another girl just a week after I arrived in Phuket.
Mike Dowson Gees, you are a very cynical person. Talking about your girlfriend through 7 years like that and bragging about finding a new girl a week after. Wooow 👀
Lots of negative comments here from people I can only assume are not big bike riders so find the big highways a bit scary, they just lack confidence when they are away from their ladyboys in Pattaya 🤣🤣
The road is totally fine and can be a lot of fun, done it many times. Head out west to the border at Chumpon and follow it down to Phuket, some amazing bike roads down that way, enjoy 😉
Mike Smith sure cuz you never read about accidents and deaths of motorbikes on those highways. Oh wait yes you do it happens and it's usually the other driver's fault not the motorbikes fault. But hey you believe what you believe 🤡
From Pranburi and Ban Krut until Chumpon, the coastal routes are fantastic. Look for the "Scenic Route" which lets you pass by the "Wat Kaeo Prasert". . . . . . . From there you get an incredible view along the bay. . . . Before Chumpon, you must get off the Phetkasem and take the route across the mountains to Ranong
Alan Potts What i do is pull out the passengers foot pegs and put my feet back on them . It moves me forward, shifts the weight ( of which i have plenty ) and takes the pressure off my butt. Then i just rotate between the 2 positions. it helps .
