Joined this group purely because the other "main" visa group is ran by a bunch of idiots and from just an hour or two in this group its clear everyone is much more supportive and friendly. So good on you guys!

Heading to South Korea to apply for a SETV this week, incase anyone had any questions ill let you know.

Keep up the great work. This isnt really a question, just a supportive message, but feel free to delete if you see fit.

Cheers all

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post expresses appreciation for a supportive expat group focused on visa discussions, contrasting it with another group perceived as unhelpful. The author is traveling to South Korea to apply for a Special Tourist Visa (SETV) and encourages a welcoming atmosphere in the new group.

Welcome! I'd not agree it's a "bunch of idiots", though. But, damn! The closing of discussions annoy me. So often leaves interesting questions unanswered. Let us know how you fair in South Korea.

Robert is probably here under a different name. There are few people here who speak the way Robert does every time there is a DMK post.

The one admin mentioned in the other group (we all know who) has actually applied to join this group twice. We declined both times(we all know why) 😉

It's a ahame because the other visa group used to be held in high regard and could be relied upon to give accurate and up to date visa advise. I no longer reccommend anyone ask a question in that group, as so often people posting a question are ridiculed, belittled and humiliated for innocently asking a newbie question. I'm really surprised that other admins in that group have allowed their group to be hijacked and destroyed by one particularly obnoxious admin with zero people skills or diplomacy. It's refreshing to come to this group and see the patient and supportive responses from admins here

Please do. I love South Korea and was just thinking of spending a few months there this winter to hit the slops.
