Can anyone say if the overnight train to CM has Wi-Fi?

Also, if you have a link to buy tickets.

Telstra charge 10 a day and you only get 500mb per day and if you go over its another 10 a day. last time i was charged over 250 for 21 days.. this cost is ridiculous, Thanks again Ryan.

which train is it? The newer Chinese one with the pink seats or the older one?

@Curt's *****
#9. I believe they mentioned it was a newer one. We went ahead and grabbed a first class cabin. There’s a shower as well. Small, but functional.

Always get a Thai simcard nowadays, much easier, full data, cheap as chips.

Just go to store with passport and the girl will do the rest!

No brainer nowadays when travelling

Internet service is great in Thailand and 1 month unlimited phone service is $8 a month, what are you talking about?

What's wrong with 4G on your mobile. Where do you think the train is getting its signal from to distribute as Wi-Fi?

I think you coulda put this one together yourself. For me it’s because I have a limited amount of data but it could be for any number of reasons. Like if a person doesn’t have data at all. Perhaps the coverage is sparse etc.

Frankly, I don’t care where they get it from. All I care is that I’m not paying a fortune for it.

I have an AIS plan that gives me 40 GB of data each month for 588 THB. This is currently equivalent to 13.5 GBP, 18 USD, or 25 AUD. This is very cheap compared to prices in most western countries. I've had this plan for over 4 years and I've never come close to reaching my 40 GB of data.

on AIS you can get unlimited data for 24 hours at 6 Mbps second for 45 baht. Will that break the bank?

I’m on dtac and no idea whatsoever how to navigate the website or app. And it doesn’t accept any of my cards either. I’d have to go into the store. I’ll probably head there today and see about options. But, if there’s Wi-Fi on the train then I do t need to do that.

DTAC, 7gigs for 7 days, max speed, 49bt.

@Curt's *****
call DTAC call center 1678 from your mobile and choose the option for English.
Tony *********
@Curt's *****
or make sure your phone has enough funds in it and just call the DTAC call center and they can do the package for you
Tony *********
@Curt's *****
I've never used it but my guess is that the Wi-Fi won't be very reliable on the train. I'm just thinking about how many people would be sharing that signal. Check out DTAC because they do similar offers if you have a phone then just go to somewhere like 7-Eleven and they can top up your sim card with a data package

It depends on the train you get on. If it's a newer train then it normally has wifi but the old ones don't. From memory our train Bangkok to Chiang Mai at 8:30pmish did not have wifi but a new train that left at 6:15pmish had wifi.
