TLDR : Answer Summary
There are various transportation options from Bangkok airport to the city, including taxis, the Grab app, buses, and trains. Many users recommend using Grab for convenience and safety, while others suggest taking the airport buses, which are much cheaper (ranging from 50 to 120 baht). Some comments express concerns about taxi pricing and service quality, with experiences of foreign tourists being charged more. Overall, users highlight being cautious about taxi drivers attempting to exploit tourists, suggesting the use of apps or buses as more reliable alternatives.

Just another government devised rip off to the unsuspecting tourist who has no idea of the rules in thailand. As and when it comes to a debate I envision multiple drivers crowding the tourist and bully tactics coming into effect.

Easier to simply add 50 baht to the standard airport pickup and end the confusion... but that’s not the Thai way is it.

when 1 con failed another pops up, it's like whack a mole.

Now after many years, I just expect, but it's on such a small scale, I chuckle and dont complain.

During Covid, there is so little business for locals, they have to be imaginative, and us more forgiving.

, moronic reasoning here again.

Prices aren't cheap, they just match the cost of living of this place, as simple as that.

Only morons constantly compare prices to the ones back home and so end up always happy with every quotes they get, even when ripped off big time (with a smile).

Ha ha ha. They would have done better across the board to just raise there fare slightly......for every ride in the kingdom.

They would have won so much more.......

Wow that’s a terrible idea. And if it’s up to the driver to decide then of course it’s gonna be bad if you’re foreign. I think it’s taxi drivers that will lose here.

The buses from the airport are so cheap.
