TLDR : Answer Summary
The question discusses various travel options from Phuket to Bangkok for someone with three large suitcases (totaling 75kg) and seeks alternatives to flying. The comments explore options such as taking a bus or train, mention a government VIP bus service that operates overnight, and suggest shipping luggage via services like Kerry or Flash express to avoid extra costs associated with flying.

I used Airasia, and the price for extra luggage wasn't too bad. Sure not bad enough to spend time on the other suggestions I am reading here.

Fly Thai Smile Plus. 30kg allowance and 60 baht a kilo excess or something.

Flying is your only option I believe!

Just parcel with either Kerry or Flash express courier.
20 kilo = 200tbh, cheaper then luggage on a domestic plane.
Plus not have to drag it around taxi, airport, bus etc
75kg each bag, each person, or total? AirAsia premium and prepaid extra luggage not that expensive at all, 40kg per person is very cheap and it sounds like you are traveling with someone.
You could fly and ship your luggage also for cheaper ..

Of course. All of the above and you could fly, you would just buy the checked luggage option.

Yes, I paid 1420.bht for my ticket with 20kg of checked luggage with airasia. Its about the same price for nok air but you only get 15kg. Considering the bus would cost ~900 bht and take 13 hours. I took the flight and paid 500bht more. Whats expensive is if you dont pre buy the luggage.
