TLDR : Answer Summary
To effectively accumulate points for flights from the US, consider using credit cards that offer substantial signup bonuses, such as the Chase Sapphire, known for a high point accumulation rate and ease of travel booking. Additionally, Alaska Airlines and its partner Starlux were mentioned favorably for travel around Seattle. Others pointed out the importance of researching airline partners, utilizing transfer bonuses, and employing resources like TikTok and The Points Guy for current strategies and tips on efficient points usage.
I flew 2x from JFK to BKK. Last flight was biz class, 120k points + $700 US ( this was a return flight included btw) Chase points w a 20% transfer bonus.
U really have to do some research. I use tiktok and follow a few folks that know the game but more importantly, stay current for you.
It’s not just point accumulation, it’s efficient utilization via airline partner sites , transfer bonuses and finally, locating the best points fares using seats.aero and such.

Chase Credit cards. Easy to get about 500,000 miles with their cards.

I know Chase Sapphire has a huge bonus right now for new cardmembers. And a total of 5 points/miles per dollar when you book through Chase travel. We just used it to fly from Koh Samui to LA on EVA airlines. Price was exactly the same as if we booked on EVA directly.
you are lucky I looked earlier this year. Two separate trips and chase was $400-600 more expensive than the online prices for both trips. I flipped them the bird and bought online.
Actually I was a little surprised the price was the same as the EVA website. I generally always book directly with the airline, but the price and 5 points per dollar made it a great deal.
I have to admit I don’t understand your problem with this question. I flew myself and my kids here in business class both in December and when we moved here in July. I spent a total of approximately $30 in taxes to fly in absolute luxury. The points were accumulated on money I would have already spent so the plane tickets were basically free.
Best way to accumulate points is by getting a card with a big signup bonus. If you aren’t loyal to any specific airline then getting a chase card is probably your best bet as Amex isn’t taken much in Thailand though you can still use the points. I don’t know if you can recommend other groups but… there is a good group to ask specific points related questions
