I just did my 90 day report in person. It was an all day thing and very complicated especially since I had my passport renewed. I asked if we could do the 90 day report online from now on and they said no. Is this correct ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of submitting the 90 day report online after a passport renewal. Responses indicate that this is generally not possible for the first report after re-entering Thailand, which has to be done in person. However, subsequent reports can often be mailed or handled through agents, and experiences vary by location, with some provinces offering quicker processing times.

Never needs to be an all day event. Use an agent or apply by mail.

Some provinces are in and out in 15 minutes or less.

Since you have to leave the country at 179 days, no, you won't be doing your second report online. And once you re-enter Thailand your first report again has to be in person. Previous statement assumes you will not be doing an in country extension.

if you had to do a second consecutive report, you'd be at immigration in person getting an extension and the officer would do it for you, or you'd be illegally on overstay in the country.

with DTV practically yes since you typically never stay longer than 180 days.

However, for 3-500 baht you can use an agent to do the report and never have to leave your sofa…..

In most cases, you can only do that after extending your 180 days with immigration as the first 90 days is in person each first time after reetering Thailand. I've seen some rare exceptions for which DTV holders were able to fill online but most had to come back inperson again. You can do with agent or send by letter. I’ve only heard that Bangkok takes longer; other places are usually fine. However, you need to report to the immigration office listed on your last TM30.
