The discussion revolves around the urgency of leaving Thailand before a visa expires, highlighting various travel options such as going to Laos or Vietnam, particularly by land due to the difficulties faced with flight bookings and prior visa issues. The community advises against overstaying and suggests leaving on time to avoid complications with future immigration checks. Several users recommend alternative routes and services for visa applications, while also noting the importance of proper planning.
Greg Pill if you get a denial, you do usually get 7 days with it (from the date of the denial, it's not added on the end). They may not accept the application, but if they do, and deny it, that is usually the way it works.
Even if it's your first trip to the Kingdom, immigration doesn't care what your circumstances are for not properly planning ahead. Yes, if you apply for another extension, it will get denied. Whatever you do, do not overstay! Your next attempted entry will almost certainly be denied by immigration. If you plan to return and stay longer on your next visit, I highly recommend applying for a proper tourist visa like the METV (up to 180 days) or DTV (up to 5 years).
My thoughts are you already know all the answers,,,, in reality it’s your own dam fault for stretching your days to the bitter end,, suck it up and spend the money to get shit done !!!
@copper firstly you were stamped in on a 60 day VISA EXEMPT so NO VISA. Once you have a 30-day extension there's no more. Once its finished thats it and you commence overstay.
Don't do that as immigration can ban you torturing to Thailand..
Travel to Laos (overland) - there are several Friendship Bridges from Thailand. Trains and buses to the borders. We did this in reverse. Easy. Or fly into Laos.
It is Khmer New year when you are looking to travel so many Cambodians will be travelling, especially to Siam Reap to celebrate.
Laos is an awesome country if you can make it work for you. Easy train ride to Vientiane. Luang Prabang is a short train ride from there. Or you could take an overnight sleeper bus from Vientiane to Pakse, and from there go to Don Det island. Another awesome place. Or simply continue from Pakse to Siem Reap. You could get to Cambodia in 3 days and out of Thailand the first day. I assumed you will be starting from Bangkok.
Don’t overstay it I’ll affect future visits . Take train then to nong khai then bus into laos . Cheap . Then continue from there into Cambodia . See the countryside an added bonus
Immigration is closed until the 16th so an extension will be out of the equation. So your options realistically are leave by land or get Overstay stamp and fines.
No they will not give you 7 day extension. Immigration does not care if you broke a nail or if your loved ones passed away. Your failure to an does not constitute an emergency on their part. Best if you book a bus or mini van out.
I would go to an consulate and ask for ask for a 60 days tourists visa .. witch can extend for 30 days …bring 20.000 the cash or in Other currency with I … and a flight out of Thailand after the 90 days …..BUT… as you mentioned …. If your history looks like u abuse the Immigration laws …. The officer can reject it … good luck
I can see flights to Phnom Penh for 2200 baht on April 14, thats the normal price. Siem Reap is 3500. If you can't afford that maybe should go home. You gotta pay for the temples too
CopperMouse547 A possible change of plans could be to go by land to Laos (you are probably visa-exempt for Laos), then on to Vietnam, and do Cambodia on the way back to Thailand. It might be a lovely little adventure! :-)
CopperMouse547 air Asia tickets can be paid for at 7-11.
When booking on the AirAsia website or app, choose “Counter Service” as your payment method. You’ll get a payment code / booking reference. Take that code to any 7‑Eleven and pay at the cashier (cash or sometimes card).
There is no way to know 100% but causing problems and not following the rules doesn't paint a very good picture for the immigration officers when reviewing your next entry.
Just as others have said, you really should consider leaving on time, changing your travel plans or paying the higher airfare if you are deadset on the current path.
Jared Elliott thank you for being firm in explaining while maintaining a kind reply. The very last thing I want to do is upset this amazing place this place they had taught me so much already. 🙏
