What are acceptable methods to show travel plans when crossing the border into Thailand for a Non-O visa application?

Anyone have experience crossing the border at Vientiane on land and being able to show an acceptable PDF for inward and outbound of Thailand for Non-O Visa application?  My plan was just get a grab from Udon Thani airport but that doesn't leave a paper trail. I see I could book a bus to cross the border at 12go.asia but it's such a funky site. Anyone do other means than showing airline tickets? I guess this can apply to crossing at other spots, but just wondering what they will accept as I don't want to have to submit docs a second time.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking here and why you feel you need a paper trail?

Did you apply for a Non-O visa elsewhere and then travel to Thailand before it was issued? And thus you need to cross out of Thailand and then return to get stamped in on that visa?

Or is it something else entirely?
