TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking recommendations for agencies in Phuket that can assist with obtaining a retirement visa, having already met the necessary requirements. Multiple comments suggest that it may be straightforward and can be done independently at the local Immigration Office, although some warn about the challenges of applying from a visitor status. A discussion also reveals the complexities of obtaining visas from Australia, specifically mentioning that there is a Thai consulate in Perth.

. Hoops? This is probably the easiest thing you can get. Just turn up, show your national driving license, pay the fee and off you go with a Thai driving license.
, it is a consulate, not an embassy. Visas have to go thru the embassy in Canberra, unless they operate under different rules than the consulate in Brisbane
to get any visa in Australia means a trip (or mail, slow and unreliable in Aust) to Canberra. From Perth, this is about a 4 hour plane ride to Sydney or Melbourne, then a connecting flight to Canberra. Then at least $200 a night in a hotel in Canberra. It is not that easy in Australia
