What advice can be given to a South African wanting to obtain a Thai ED Visa for language studies?

A friend from South Africa is seeking advice on obtaining a Thai ED Visa for language studies. It's advised that she contact the school she plans to attend to ensure they provide the necessary documents for the Non Immigrant ED Visa. South African passport holders may face difficulties obtaining this visa in Malaysia or Cambodia, with suggestions pointing to Laos as a viable option. Locally, the Thai consulates in Laos are known to issue visas to South African citizens, and it's helpful to inform the school of her visa application plans as required documents may vary.
