Is it risky to leave Thailand from DMK airport given my visa history?

Going from CNX to Vientiane next week for my 1st ED Visa.

I will be flying to Vientiane with a layover at DMK Airport as I found a convenient ticket in terms of cost & duration.

On my way back I plan on going Udon Thani via terestrial border in order to avoid Bangkok.

Maybe I am just paranoid but do I risk anything by leaving the country from DMK airport?

My history is 3 SETV visas this year; on the last one i got the blue saying "The holder of this passport travels to Thailand under a tourist visa several times which may result in the refusal of a visa in the future" - that's where my concern comes from and I want to be aware if there is any other stamp or something they can issue when leaving the country that can make it more difficult for one to get a new visa or to enter the country in the future.

If there is any risk involved I would change my plans and exit via Nong khai.

Many thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The author is concerned about the potential risks of departing from DMK Airport due to their previous experience with several SETV visas and a note attached to their passport indicating their frequent use of tourist visas. They plan to leave Thailand for Vientiane to obtain their first ED Visa and are contemplating alternative travel routes to avoid Bangkok on their return journey. Responses from the community suggest that leaving Thailand from DMK is generally risk-free, with recommendations for alternate travel plans to ensure a smoother re-entry into Thailand.

I heard that ED visa are hard to get when you have a history of staying on tourist visa.

I’ve heard the same, but everyone says that if you apply for ED in TH it’s safe. At least in PTT all the language schools I’ve talked to said I will surely get one, and I had non-O for few years than few tourist ones. Well will see soon how easy it goes 😀

Fly out CNX walk back in.

I would land back in then fly Udon to Chiang Mai just. to be sure. If its not your first Ed visa you'll maybe be denied however

She said 1st ED, if it was 2nd year ED (same language), she needs to avoid Vientiane.

Maybe paranoid, but we all are now. Seems like a good plan: flying out and walking in.

Make sure you have an appointment for Thai Consulate.

I hope they give you the visa as the staff there are fickle.

If for some reason you don’t get your ED visa:

If you haven’t done any terrestrial border bounces, they’ll let you in to Thailand with a visa exempt stamp.

You have a high chance of getting denied while entering from DMK airport even with all 3 proof of, but leaving the country = risk-free, so you have nothing to worry about. On your way back to avoid DMK I recommend that you take a Bus from Vientiane to Luang Prabang, then a direct flight from there to Chiang Mai (2k baht). I did that a few months ago, and Luang Prabang city is quite nice tbh, I was really surprised.
