TLDR : Answer Summary
When arriving at immigration with a non-O retirement visa, it is recommended to present a printed version of the visa along with your passport. The embassy instructions indicate that an electronic PDF on a mobile device may not suffice, as immigration officers might mistakenly give a 60-day visa exempt stamp if they do not see the printed visa. It is also advisable to check your passport after processing to ensure the correct stamp is applied.

Print it and always keep it in your passport. You'll be surprised how often you'll need it.

The embassy instructions are to print out the visa and hand it over with your passport. Without the printed visa, the immigration officer may make a mistake and stamp you in with a 60 day visa exempt stamp, since that's mostly what they do all day.

And ALWAYS check your passport after leaving passport control to ensure you received the correct stamp. It's very easy to fix then and there, and very difficult if not impossible to fix later.
