Should I get a multi-re-entry permit or separate single re-entry permits for my trips out of Thailand?

Hi everyone. I’m looking at doing two trips out of Thailand within a short period. I have a non-b and am wondering if I should get a multi-reentry permit or just two separate single ones. Is there a rule against this?

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether to obtain a multi-reentry permit or two separate single re-entry permits for their upcoming trips out of Thailand while holding a non-B visa. The discussion clarifies that while there are no strict rules against obtaining multiple single permits, it may be more practical and cost-effective to opt for a multi-reentry permit, especially if planning multiple trips.

Ok thanks a lot everyone. I really appreciate it.

The only difference is the price, there are no rules or regulations in time frames, there are no rules in the amount or re-entry permits a person can have in his passport, it is just totally up to the person, buy one and use. Do not make things so complicated by keep on thinking in doom scenarios about the very bad Immigration Office.

Question was is there a rule, I know about size of the stamp and passport space but that is not part of the rule. And I agree you buy one and use and buy another one and use. Your passport is not a pantry where you can store stamps to use in the future.

AFAIK there is only one active (not used) reentry which can be linked to passport/visa/extension of stay at the moment, single or multiple. So the OP can request permits one after another, but from 2 and up trips is much more practical to get multiple than spend time at IO and pages in passport...

I don't see why you can't ask for 2 singles. They stamp them used when you return.

He can't ask them in one visit, but one after another when previous permits was used already.

Or if there’s a time period within which you can only have one

You can have one not used at the moment, of course when you come back and will not have reentry, you may apply for another. BUT every reentry stamp will occupy

page in your passport. And IF in any case you will travel third time, then your savings will be almost nothing compared to time spend to get permits. Multiple is more practical, even if it cost more than 2 singles.

Actually I’m wondering if once I come back in I can just go get another
Stephen *******
He's asking about the possibility of getting 2 singles in one go.

Single Re-Entry 1.000 Thb, Multiple Re-Entry 3.800 Thb. That is the only difference, choice is yours.
