To extend or not to extend? I entered on a 60 day visa June 11th flying Eva air. Departing Aug 8th or day 59 of visa. Hope is the strike will have worked itself out, but I'm nervous that it might rekindle.

Question is if I have my TM30 how quick can I do a visa extension; or should I just treat the 1800 baht as insurance and go ahead and extend in case of a flight delay.

I'm in Hua Hin now but will be in small town last week of July and finally Bangkok from Aug 5th at hotel.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering whether to extend their 60-day visa in Thailand before their departure on August 8th, as they are nervous about potential flight delays. They seek advice on how quickly they can obtain a visa extension with a TM30 form and whether spending 1800 baht on the extension is wise as a precaution. The comments provide insights on the variability of the extension process duration in Bangkok and suggest there is no urgent need to wait until the last day to extend.

alright, in Bangkok, depending on when you get out there for the 30 day extension, it takes as long as it takes, :O That's the best answer you're going to get.

You can get a 30 day extension on a 60 day tourist visa entry for 1900baht, there's no reason to wait until the last day because the extension is added to your current expiration date.

In Bangkok they were NOT asking for a TM30 when people were getting 30 day extensions on a tourist visa or a visa exempt entry stamp.

Well i asked how long it takes in Bangkok to get a 30 day extension. Can it be done from bkk on day 59 of the visa? Or maybe the is a cheaper way (eg 7 day extension)

All extensions are 1900. It's up to the immigration officer to decide to approve it (30 days), or deny it (7 days).

You are asking for a bit of a prediction of the future. Life is made up of probabilities. I would consider the odds as best I could and make a decision on the implications of those odds.
