TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the acceptability of a Fit-To-Fly Form for traveling from the U.S. to Thailand, with users sharing opinions and experiences. Some assert that any document stating 'Fit to Fly' with a signature should suffice, provided it comes from a legitimate source. The topic also branches into broader concerns about visa processes, including the need for flight tickets, travel insurance, and ASQ arrangements, with various users offering personal insights and advice on preparations.

@andesrosson do they still require a charter flight to get into Thailand from USA?

I'm not sure... I was planning on going on a semi-commercial flight.

can you offer some advice?

I'm filling out the application for the visa and COE, but I'm very confused. Do I need to have plane tickets and insurance booked before applying? It's not letting me submit the online application without it

I chose a semi-commercial flight with Emirates.

I haven’t applied for my COE or visa yet, but I have already booked my flight, ASQ, and bought insurance. I did a lot of research and I’m pretty sure you need to have these 3 documents to start either process. Just make sure you know the refund/cancellation policy of your airline/ASQ before booking.

I know, just make sure you read up on policies and are fully aware of their refund conditions.

Thank you. Did you have insurance already? Or did you buy some? Dod your ASQ have a refund policy?

Yes, I put down a deposit of approximately $300 and will pay the remaining balance once I arrive at the hotel. I chose The Salil Hotel because it is a modest price, has good reviews, is close to the BTS station, and has a good cancellation/refund policy.

I had to buy my own insurance, I ended up using

because it's recommended by the Thai Embassy. It's a bit more expensive than other insurance policies I've seen ($400 for 90 days), but I was willing to pay a little extra if I know that it will be accepted.

First stop should be your Royal Thai Embassy in your home country; then, go from there.

10 X more than you need, but yes; that would work. Any piece of paper that says "Fit to Fly" with a scribbled signature and maybe a stamp would probably work. However, it does need to be from a legitimate source.
