Good afternoon all . I have a uk friend based in Shanghai who has a wife from Burundi.

They need a visa for her for a short holiday in Thailand but have been told it’s a 5 day processing time and the next appointment at Thai embassy Shanghai is end of July .

Anyone in the group have any idea if there is a way to fast track by any chance .

Thy are both legally resident in Shanghai by the way.

Thanks and regards

Chris

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK resident in Shanghai is seeking advice on how to expedite the visa process for his wife from Burundi, who has been told the earliest appointment for her visa application at the Thai embassy is at the end of July, while they need it for travel on the 18th. Comments suggest exploring other consulates for faster processing and mention concerns over vaccination requirements.

Thanks

. It is my wife who is having the issue with Visa timing. The problem is not the time it takes to process the visa it is the time it takes to get the appointment. The soonest in Shanghai is 16th and we fly on 18th. We are trying other visa locations in China but in the meantime does anyone know of quick service agencies that could process. Money is not the issue at this stage.

I believe Cambodia is visa on arrival for Burundi citizens but it would certainly make more sense at this stage to loose the flights from Shanghai on 18th and book again for 20th

I was going to suggest that you stop in a nearby country and use the thai consulate there before coming here but I noticed that Burundi is on the list of countries that can't get a tourist visa from the thai consulates in most nearby countries.

, I don't know if they have to apply at the nearest thai consulate in China or can use any one they want to.

I'd contact some of these and see if they have any faster of a processing time.

she's also on the list of countries that need proof of a yellow fever vaccination (although I dunno if they'll waive it cause she lives in China).

Unfortunately, I think the only option is to wait out the appointment
