Hello. I was just told that I need to spend 5 days in Cambodia to re-enter Thailand on my O visa. Is that the standard exit requirement?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses a common misunderstanding regarding the need to spend a specific amount of time outside Thailand, particularly in Cambodia, in order to re-enter the country on an O visa. It clarifies that there is no legal requirement to stay a certain number of days outside Thailand, and re-entry is ultimately at the discretion of the immigration officer. Participants share experiences and advice about making border runs, including tips on appropriate attire and respectful behavior when crossing into Cambodia.

2 days one night. Drop off your material at immigration and return at 1:00 or 2:00 PM the next day
I did Poi Pet border run on February 12, 2024 and spent 20 minutes in Cambodia. The key is, you have to dress conservatively and be polite. No beach attire. If you wear a button down shirt, long pants and shoes, they will look at you as being someone who is well educated and deserving of respect.
