Not Visa related. About to book my transfer. How much time should I allow from touch down, getting through customs and bag collection to getting to the taxi rank at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport. First trip there. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The time required to get from landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport to reaching the taxi rank can vary significantly. It is suggested that you allow anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours, depending on the volume of incoming flights and the efficiency of immigration processing. On average, one hour is sufficient on quieter days, but it could extend to two hours during peak times. It's advisable to give your transfer service your scheduled landing time, but many recommend using a public taxi service, which can cost approximately 400-500 Baht, and it is suggested to ensure the cab driver uses the meter for fair pricing.

Its easy and cheap to just hail a cab. Tell him to use the meter.

Just one more thing. On my booking it said Transfers were available so I checked but the hotel said they didn’t organise transfers but advised me to get a public taxi which would cost

Baht. Googled public taxi and that’s about right. Having checked Transfer sites their service costs at least double and more than that. What would your advice be, Public taxi or organise a transfer. Thank you.

Depends totally on the number of international flights arriving at the same time and the number of immigration officers working.

Can be everything in between 20 minutes and several hours.

The taxi firm only needs your flight info.

Just give your transfer the scheduled landing time. They'll be there for you.
