Good morning, I have just been informed that the ONLY option for an extension of a Non B Visa is to go on a 30 day emergency tourist visa.

Is this correct? Can someone confirm if this is true?

So basically after almost two decades living here, paying taxes and everything else that comes with owning a business, now I have to lose my Non B and go back to a tourist visa? :/

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is seeking confirmation on whether the only way to extend a Non-B visa is to switch to a 30-day emergency tourist visa. Responses indicate that it is possible to apply for a one-year extension based on employment instead of transitioning to a tourist visa. However, there seem to be varying experiences reported by community members regarding the effectiveness and criteria for obtaining extensions at different immigration offices.

You people have to learn how to run a business.

Sorry, it is not the Government who is responsible for your business it is YOU.

If you can not make enough profit to pay the bills pull the plug as it did not work out.

I close this topic, sorry but the rules are in play for many years and did not change. Play by the rules and there are no problems.

It seems so far the ones with similar Multiple Non-B (with 90 days allowance to stay) visa going to Samui in our community report the following ...

- Without the Emergency letter one get 7 days (normal extension get denied, 7 days to leave).

- With the Emergency letter one can get 15-30 days depending on Immigration.

- Non-B Multiple expires immediately by changing to a Emergency Extension.

When someone has other news please post it!

@Robert ******
it is more related to the business , how much work is generated and how much the costs are , on top even if you try in the south to get it right , each single officer adds more and next appointment is by another officer , who changes it all around , on top it is nearly impossible to find 4 thais per each wp (the major reason for multiple)to work for you , that all goes well in bigger companies , if the like to do so, but most here have only worked in small once , where these expenses impossible , as an employee you are even on the very last end of the hook

was it actually breaking the rules, illegal in any way? or just not following the preferred method? honest question as I'm unsure.

Only when she meet the requirements isn't is... if she meets the requirements I am wondering why is she having a MULTIPLE Non-B??

robert that is the problem of 90% or more in the south , you hardly can meet the criteria they ask

The normal 1 year Extension of Stay is still in play, you do not have to apply for emergency tourist extension.
Robert *******
You visit your Immigration Office and apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay. As the way this Non Immigrant B visa is set up, a visa to get into Thailand and from then on the Extension of Stay.

Immigration Office, they have hand outs with requirements

How did it work on Samui please? That's where I need to go also next week. I have the list of requirements that you told us about a couple of days ago on my original post.

Is this correct?

No, you can get an extension of stay based on employment.

Also, what is a "Non-B" visa? Is this a multiple entry Non-B visa that gets you stamped in for every 90 days?

jo , upper north of chumphon most non-b holder do just an extension of stay within the country at immi or online , and do not go for border runs , but south pretty much everyone is in the same boat , as it is nearly impossible to find your 4 thai employees , so thats why we are all on a multiple non-b and jumping the loop , now it will be time to clean up and a lot of us will take the bitter pill afterwards
