TLDR : Answer Summary
The duration for land border crossings into Thailand is currently set at 60 days for nationals of specific countries that qualify for the visa exemption program. Those entering Thailand on a visa will receive the duration that their visa permits. Additionally, it's possible to extend a 60-day visa exemption by applying for a 30-day extension at a local immigration office.

That depends completely on how you are entering. Enter with a visa, get what the visa gives you. Enter without a visa and you are eligible for visa exempt, then get 60 days as long as the visa exempt program remains at 60 days. There is no entry type that gives different amount of times just because of where you are entering.
