Is the border run to Malaysia still a viable option for visa extension?

I just heard something about border run via Malaysia, that it has become very difficult.

We have the 60 day exemption which ends on the 25th this month. My kids and I were planning on doing the border run via Malaysia, because we are down south and stay there for a couple of days and then go back.

So maybe we should do it via Vietnam unless there would be the same issue 🤔

Has anyone heard anything about this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user expresses concerns about the difficulties of performing a border run to Malaysia, especially with their current 60-day exemption ending soon. They are considering an alternative route through Vietnam and are seeking advice from others who may have more information. Comments suggest using a border bounce agency or extending the visa through Thai immigration.

I think that would be the 30 day extension, but we are housesitting in Thailand during Christmas/new year, so than the 30 days will be to short and we still have to do the border run

Just use a land border bounce agency. They'll drive you there and back and make sure you don't have any issues getting out or back in.

I didn’t, because we got a housesitting option for 4 weeks in Thailand during Christmas/new year. So time wise it would be easier to do the border run at 60 days

no, I'm not familiar with southern Thailand. But even if I was I couldn't make any recommendations because your post doesn't say where you're located
