Is my plan to extend my stay in Thailand with SETVs from Vientiane feasible?

Hi. Just wanted to sanity check my plans.

I have UK passport on ed visa (1 year) obtained at Vientiane. It ends on the 5th and my school has put in cancellation.

I want to stay for another 3-6 months and am hoping I will be ok on a couple of SETVs.

The plan is:

1. print off bank statement for consulate

2. book flights and return (3-4 days in Laos) + accom

3. leave on 4th

4. go from CM to Vientiane by plane

5. withdraw 20k baht for return

6. return by land crossing

7. get plane from udon thani to CM

8. ? report?

9. extend visa by 30 day when possible

Some questions:

1. does the above sound ok?

2. can I screenshot statements from my phone (don't have access to online banking on desktop or have any paper statements)

3. is it better to pull out money before leaving or when I'm in Vientiane?

4. should I go to a different consulate?

5. what do I report on return?

*note, I know I can get visa exempt entries but I have no interest in hopping in and out of the country every 60 days. I'd prefer to just extend a couple SETVs if I can.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is planning to extend their stay in Thailand after their education visa ends by obtaining a couple of SETVs from the Thai consulate in Vientiane. They outline a detailed plan involving a brief trip to Laos and pose multiple questions regarding the visa application process, such as whether they can use mobile screenshots of their bank statements, timing for withdrawing cash, and whether they should use a different consulate. Other comments provide insights about requirements concerning proof of funds for the visa and emphasize the importance of having their visa extensions canceled correctly.

Remember it's YOUR passport, so you need to make sure that the immigration office cancels your extension NOT your school..

@Damien ******
no, just look at the stamps in it and ask who ever did it for you to explain what's what.
Tod *********
IF they canceled it they'll show you on the stamp and it will say how much longer you can stay

Just keep in mind, YOU are the one that owns that passport (not the school) and you are the one responsible for the stamps in it (not the school). It's on you if something is done wrong not on who did it for you :O

that is a cancel extension stamp. You can see they canceled it on the 21 of march and were given until the 10th of april to stamp out of the country

@Damien ******
they will have canceled your extension and you would have a stamp that says how long you can still stay in it.

@Damien ******
you take the letter from the school stating you're going to stop studying to the immigration office and cancel your current extension of stay on your own.

The thai consulate in Vientiane does NOT require you show proof of funds to get a tourist visa from them

The thai border at Nong Khai does NOT require you to show proof of funds to get into the country.

@Damien ******
you need copies of the data page of your passport, your lao visa and entry stamp and a filled out application with 2 passport sized photos to apply for a tourist visa in Vientiane
