Hello members.... I'm an Indian passport holder. My visa as well as work permit will expire on 31st March. I'm going to change my school from the next semester. I couldn't cancel my visa and work permit as I already left the country due to current situation. My questions are

1. Is it mandatory to cancel visa and work permit? (Even though they are expiring soon)

2. What would happen when I'm applying for new visa without cancelling the old one?

My agent said it can be done without cancelling. But my colleagues are warning me. Can anyone please guide me? Thank you so much ❤️😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Indian passport holder is seeking guidance on whether it is mandatory to cancel a visa and work permit that are about to expire, especially since they have already left the country. They are concerned about applying for a new visa without cancelling the old one, after receiving conflicting advice from their agent and colleagues.

You get documents from your employer as to your termination of employment and take those to cancel your work permit. The labor office will then give you a document to cancel your visa at immigration, where you can simultaneously get a 7 day extension to prepare for your departure.

Failure to cancel your work permit properly will result in either a fine or a flat-out refusal next time you apply.

thank you so much for your advice. What documents I need to give my employer to get termination letter? Is that termination letter enough to get cancel the work permit? What would happen if I cancel the work permit but couldn't cancel Visa? My visa expires on 31 March. I heard that visa gets cancelled automatically when it expires. Is that true? Thank you so much ❤️.....can we please talk in chat box?

You need a letter signed by your current employer stating you are terminating your employment and present that to immigration. You also have to cancel your work permit. Don’t believe your agent. It could affect future Visa/work permit requests. As these are special circumstances there could be some latitude though.
