This is a post related to another saw a couple of days ago.
My position.
I get a 60 day tourist visa, renew once at immigration for 30 days and then again by visiting Laos for 3 days via Nong Khai for another 30 day extension.
I do this once in a calendar year.
I've never had a problem!
Which is just as well as I cycle across the bridge in to Laos!๐
A refusal to enter would be 'inconvenient' to say the least!
I've done this every year for the past 3 years.
After reading the other post I suspect that I might now have problems the next time I visit.
I visit Thailand with my Thai partner to stay with her elderly parents and family for 120 days every year.
What type of visa should I, could I apply for other than a 60 day tourist?
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user discusses their experience of visiting Thailand with a 60-day tourist visa, which they extend twice through immigration procedures and a border run to Laos. They express concern about potential immigration problems during their next visit and seek advice on better visa options for spending 120 days in Thailand with their Thai partner. Comments suggest alternatives like the NON-O marriage visa, multi-entry tourist visa, and using border run agencies to mitigate risks.

What you do is correct and not abusing the system. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just attempting to upset and be clever when they are clearly not. Good luck my friend

Thai partner means not wife (I assume) otherwise your solution would be easy, a Non-O marriage Visa giving you 90 days on entry followed by a 60 day "Visit Thai Family" extension.

Multi entrance tourist visa.

Abandon your bike and use a border run agency to take you out and back

You probably won't have problems, but there are some things you can do to increase your odds.
1) Don't get the extension at immigration before you go to Laos. Just do 60 days then go to Laos. Many of the people who have issues are those who max out their 60+30 and then leave and return.
2) Use a border bounce agency. The fee you pay the agent all but guarantees you will get out and back in without issues.
